VolkerWessels Logistics Development (VWLD) has completed the head office and distribution centre at Industrieweg 17 (Haven industrial estate) in Waalwijk for Tenant SIG Benelux, a market leader in the supply of specialist materials for construction and technical insulation. VWLD sold the development to CBRE Global Investors on behalf of one of its clients.

The building consists of approx. 14,000 m² warehousing with high-quality office space of approx. 1,500 m² and approx. 4,500 m² outdoor space for storage. VolkerWessels company Systabo was the main contractor responsible for realising this 'built to suit' project, which was developed fully tailored for the Tenant but which is also future-proof thanks to several preparatory measures.

The building was designed by Kern Architects and the office interior by Atelier Robidoux.

The completion for SIG Benelux means that the first phase of the redevelopment of the former Martens Beton concrete production site has been successfully completed. Development of the second phase - a DC of approx. 6,500 m² on site - will start in September this year and will be available for leasing from the end of Q1 2022.
