VolkerWessels Logistics Development (VWLD) has signed an agreement with Deka Immobilien for the sale of a new distribution center in Huissen. The distribution center, which will be completed in November 2022 and for which a long-term lease has been concluded with Hoevers Logistiek, will be included by Deka Immobilien in its Westinvest TargetSelect Logistics fund, which is aimed at institutional investors.
The distribution center has a total area of approximately 25,000 m² including office space and has a full electric heating system in combination with solar panels on the roof. The parties involved are striving for BREEAM Excellent certification for this building.
The location
VWLD purchased the plot of almost four hectares on the Agropark II business park in Huissen (municipality of Lingewaard) in early 2021. The location is strategically located between Arnhem and Nijmegen and a short distance from the A15, making it a perfect location for logistics real estate. The architect of the project is Leferink architects, the construction work is in the hands of VolkerWessels company Systabo.
Hoevers Logistics
The tenant Hoevers Logistiek, founded in 1924, is a third party logistics service provider. With the move to Huissen, Hoevers is consolidating its various warehouses in the Arnhem region and will facilitate various customers from this new location.
VWLD was advised on the sale by Cushman & Wakefield (commercial) and Habraken Rutten (legal). Deka was advised by NewGround Law (legal) and Cushman & Wakefield (technical).
