SEGRO – a leading owner, manager and developer of modern warehouses and industrial property – has purchased a grade-A logistics building at Sourethweg 1 in Heerlen from developer VolkerWessels Logistics Development to expand their position in the South of the Netherlands.

The distribution center was completed in January 2024 and is fully leased to B&R Premium Logistics. The property totals 37,750m² of LFA and holds a BREEAM Excellent certificate. The new-built property is located next to the South corridor A76 near the German and Belgium border and gives direct access to the wider European markets.

Eelco Ouwerkerk, Head of Netherlands at SEGRO, said:

“The purchase fits well with our strategy to grow the Dutch portfolio in the short term through high-quality and sustainable acquisitions in the best locations. With the first purchase in South Limburg, we express our confidence in this region as an important logistics location.”

Erjan Sprakel, Director of VolkerWessels Logistics Development said:

“After turning this brownfield location into a state of the art distribution center, we are very pleased that such a renowned investor as SEGRO recognized the value of the asset and its location, which for us confirms the region’s potential.”

The seller was assisted commercially by JLL and Trust Realty Partners and legally by Sight Advocaten. The buyer was legally advised by Stibbe and technically by SGS Search Ingenieursbureau. The sale was completed through the notary office QGM.
