VolkerWessels Logistics Development leases DC Drunen to West Coast Supply Group
05-04-2024
NIEUWEGEIN, APRIL 3, 2024 – On Thursday afternoon, March 28, West Coast
Supply Group and VolkerWessels Logistics Development celebrated the leasing of
DC Drunen with a festive event at the construction site in the presence of
Martijn van Esch, Alderman for Finance, Economy and Sports of the municipality
of Heusden. DC Drunen is a new development on the former LDM site of
approximately 33,000 m² of business space. An appealing new user has been found
for this location in West Coast Supply Group.
West Coast Supply Group is an internationally operating distributor of
fast-moving consumer goods. Due to the growth of its activities, West Coast
Supply Group was looking for a new logistics hub to partially consolidate its
activities and ensure the growth of its business. The new home fits perfectly
with the sustainable and social ambitions of West Coast Supply Group. The new
location will soon accommodate 60 employees and be a workplace for people with
a "support requirement" or distance from the labor market.
DC Drunen
The project is located on the Metal Valley industrial estate, where, after
the termination of LDM's activities, the buildings on the five-hectare plot
were demolished and the soil remediated. Systabo, also a VolkerWessels company,
started construction of the new distribution center in October 2023. The
redevelopment has a high sustainability ambition, aiming for BREEAM Excellent
certification. The roof has been prepared for the installation of solar panels
and extra measures have been taken to store water on site.
The Project delivery will take place in September 2024 and West Coast Supply Group will start using the new premises from the end of this year. VolkerWessels
Logistics Development was legally advised by Sight Advocaten and
commercially by Bridgegap in collaboration with JLL.
