A tailored suit that grows with the future
For SIG Benelux, we transformed a former industrial site into a headquarters with distribution centre that perfectly fits their current and future needs. This first phase of a large-scale redevelopment next to Waalwijk's harbour demonstrates how we breathe new life into outdated business locations. With 14,000 m² of logistics space, a 1,600 m² headquarters, and approximately 4,500 m² outdoor storage, we've created a complex that adapts to changing requirements.
Built-in Flexibility
We designed an 'adjustable suit' that grows with its users. The construction and foundation allow for future expansion with a mezzanine along the front facade. The current overhead doors are prepared for later transformation into a loading pit with docks. The space currently suitable for outdoor storage can be used for future building expansion. This flexibility makes the complex attractive for future users with regular distribution activities.
Location with Potential
Our vision on sustainability goes beyond solar panels and efficient installations. We believe in reusing locations and creating future-proof buildings. This project, on a plot of nearly 4 hectares, transforms an outdated industrial site into modern logistics. Together with the adjacent Waalwijk DC II, we're giving this area a new, sustainable future.
Smart Combination
The complex combines a representative headquarters with an efficient distribution centre for building materials. The 4,500 m² outdoor area offers additional flexibility for storage and distribution. The location next to Waalwijk's harbour enhances logistics possibilities and underscores the strategic nature of this location.
